Oldest Active Member - MAJ Holcomb M. Stroup
Major Holcomb M. Stroup, Jr. is a former Commanding Officer and serving Trustee. He served as a Sergeant (Flight Engineer) in the Army Air Corps during World War. He joined the F.I.L.I. on March 1, 1965 and was quickly elevated to First Sergeant. On 23 August 1967, First Sergeant Stroup was elected Captain as Company Adjutant. On the 23 August 1969, Stroup was elected Major and Commanding Officer of the Grand Olde Company. Major Stroup’s tenure as Commander is marked by adherence to military discipline, emphasis on security and maintenance of the armory, and the safe guarding of important and historic records.
Longest Serving Current Member - Eugene Ivey
Eugene joined the ranks of the F I.L.I. in 1960. One of the highlights of his 54 years of service was marching in the inagratial paraded for President Lyndon Baines Johnson.
In 1968, Eugene was elected to the office of Captain and served in that capasity until 1972 and then again from 1976 - 78. Currently Eugene serves as a Trustee of the Grand Olde Company.
